Fog Lake

While some structures at SFU campus have been compared to prisons (aka the library), the view from Burnaby Mountain sometimes makes it look like you're in heaven. These past weeks, there's been a lot of low-pressure fog in Vancouver. While you can't see 10 meters past yourself down there, you can see the blue skies up at SFU. The result? Fog Lake.

Gorgeous, isn't it? I hope those of you who are here managed to enjoy the view. It's especially ethereal during sunsets.

New arrivals at SFU

This is Baoxuan Xu(Bax), a member of the DDP that has already come to Vancounver.

Now, I will make rough records of what we experienced a period after arrival.

The first day we arrived.
I have to say, Vancouver is really a beautiful city. On the way to SFU, every villa is surrounding by lawn and trees. Not meeting any skyscraper, we saw that each house is less than three floors. Although it was a little colder than we thought, we admitted that Vancouver was a wonderful place to live. Especially, I like fresh air here.

After we got to SFU, our advisor Vivian showed us around the campus and helped us get registered. Maybe it was the luck that my sister’s amulet brought to me, that my room was extremely clean and hardly needed any cleaning. So we were all settled here.
Then at night, we had some guys here took us for the orientation. After some games the leader took us to diner. I had to say ,the cold hamburger and fruits really tasted not that good. And the next day we also had that food for meals. -_-
Now, the third day came, the most interesting thing was we went to the super mall in Vancouver to buy materials for cooking and finally cooked our first meal by our own. In the mall we saw variety of goods, but to our surprise some goods were even cheaper than at home. We ate our first Chinese meal here.
